CEO & Founder
Born and raised in Belgium, Kris completed his medical and psychiatry training in his home country, with periods of study in South Africa, Israel and the UK, before taking up a post at the prestigious Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London, the largest centre of its kind in Europe. An exciting career in academic psychiatry followed, during which he also completed a PhD in neuroscience and assumed the role of medical director at a large private psychiatric hospital in the capital. In 2011, Kris left the medical profession to pursue his passion for global culture and creativity, and to build a tech company in that largely unexplored space. Culture Trip started as an online bookstore, where users could search for a location and find books and movies by local authors and directors, but once its broader potential became clear, Kris began working relentlessly to ensure that it is realised.

During nearly eight years at Google, Nick worked on a number of different products including YouTube, Emerging Markets and Offers. He then joined State, an ambitious new social network which connected people through their opinions rather than who they already knew, and then Facebook in 2014 as the lead PM on the Brand Solutions team. Although great in many ways, Nick yearned for something more worthwhile and creative and in early 2017 started working with Culture Trip to establish a clear product strategy and build out the product, design and data science teams.

An avid outdoors enthusiast, Mike can be found in the mountains when he’s not working either skiing, mountain biking, or playing golf.
