In-house creative teams together with a global network of more than 300 freelance creators produce location based inspiration from around the world, including articles, videos, photography, illustration and animation. Founded by former academic psychiatrist Dr. Kris Naudts, Culture Trip has been dubbed one of the UK’s fastest-growing companies by Forbes UK. The website attracts approximately 18M monthly unique visitors with 2B+ video views in the last two years alone. The app has been downloaded 2M+ times. How Culture Trip came about:

“It started with a bookshelf”

Academic psychiatrist Dr Kris Naudts stood in front of a bookshelf in his West Indian friend’s apartment and realised he hardly recognised any of the books in his friend’s collection. As a book lover himself, he wondered how this library of ideas and culture could have passed him by and how he could solve the problem.

And so the idea for Culture Trip was born – create a space online where people could go before they travelled somewhere new to find stories by local creators and feel more connected to the world around them.

Since 2011, Culture Trip has been using technology to enable a global network of contributors – including writers, filmmakers, photographers, illustrators and animators – to create stories that reveal what is unique and special about a place, its people and its culture.
