AUSTIN, TX (March 9, 2019)Culture Trip, the travel, media and entertainment start-up, debuted today their first original short film, The Soul of Soho to a packed SXSW crowd at the Austin Motel.  The premiere kicked off Culture Trip’s 3-day “Soho in SoCo” activation at the influential conference in Austin, TX.  The Soul Of Soho is a documentary exploration of the relationship between people and the places they inhabit. Using the Soho areas of London, New York, and Hong Kong as its anchor points, The Soul of Soho examines how communities influence the creativity of their inhabitants and how that creative output in turn influences the neighborhood.

“We believe in the power of storytelling at Culture Trip and this short film exemplifies that. We are continuing to expand our content formats to delight and entertain our millions of users,” said Kris Naudts, founder & CEO, Culture Trip. “It’s great that we can allow our creators longer runtimes to fully immerse our audience in these fascinating stories and places.”

“Our goal for ‘The Soul of Soho’ was to make a film that reveals the spirit of these neighborhoods in ways that a travel guide can’t,” said Daniel Montalto, Executive Producer.  “We go beyond a casual visit and delve into the lives of the creatives who make these areas more than just places on a map, but also thriving communities.”

The film features an original score by Christopher Bear of the critically-acclaimed New York band, Grizzly Bear.  Chris’ most recent score was for the HBO series “High Maintenance.”
